Folkestuen

An intimate and cozy room with timber paneling and small-paned windows, with space for 25–40 guests. The room is used for everything from baptisms and confirmations to meetings, summer parties and Christmas parties — and can be set up with both small tables and a boardroom layout. Direct access to the courtyard and a view of the old gardens at the Norwegian Folk Museum.

Østerdalsstua

The smallest and oldest room of the guest rooms, with space for around 20–30 guests. Stained glass windows, pewter plates, an old mantel clock and an open fireplace create a warm and distinctive atmosphere. The room is suitable for mingling gatherings, small lunches and dinners. Built around 1900–1910 and with architectural details from the Norwegian Pavilion at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900 — continental ancestry in a room with Norwegian roots.

Folkestuen

Folkestuen is a pleasant room with space for between 25 and 40 guests. With timber panelling on the walls and small-paned windows, the room feels intimate and cosy.

For private individuals, the room is often used for baptisms, confirmations, and celebrations of big numbers. It is then covered with white tablecloths, candles, flowers, and nice tableware. There is direct access to the Guest House's pleasant courtyard from the Community Center.

The Folkestuen is also used a lot for meeting days, summer parties and Christmas parties for smaller groups. It can be set up both with small tables and in a boardroom layout. The room has a cozy view of the old yards at the Norwegian Folk Museum.

Østerdalsstua is the smallest of the four rooms at Gjestestuene. In addition to being a pleasant mingling room before various celebrations, the room is often used for smaller lunches and dinners. It is easy to be a group of around 20 people here, while it can also be served with a meeting lunch for around 30 participants. Stained glass windows, pewter plates, an old mantel clock and an open fireplace make the room warm and appealing.

Østerdalsstua

Østerdalsstua is the oldest part of the Guest Houses. The room that is today the Østerdalsstua was built around 1900-1910 and was the Norwegian Folk Museum's first place to serve visitors. At that time, the place was called "Norsk Folkemuseums Gjæstgiveri" and was an independent building. In 1917, this building was incorporated into the larger building complex that today constitutes the Guest Houses' function rooms.

Parts of the building elements in Østerdalsstua are reuses of architectural details from the Norwegian Pavilion at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1900. Talk about continental ancestry for a living room with the root Norwegian name Østerdalsstua!

Doble anførselstegn.

Hi, thank you very much for a very nice afternoon at the Guest Houses and the Folk Museum!

All the guests and we as organizers really appreciated the tour with a great guide, and we enjoyed some very good food and drinks in the Folkestuen afterwards. It was a very nice setting for the visit for our foreign guests.

We just wanted to thank you so much for the great organization of Hedda's confirmation last Sunday!

We have received SO much positive feedback from our guests. We are delighted, both as parents and as the main character himself, who has suddenly become an "adult."
