ABOUT US

A unique function room in green surroundings at Bygdø Kongsgård

At Gartneriet Spiseri you get an atmospheric setting for everything from summer parties and corporate events to weddings and celebrations. We have space for 20-70 people, and serve seasonal food made by our own chefs with organic ingredients that we grow ourselves.

Romantic

In the summer you can rent the whole or half of the greenhouse at Gartneriet Spiseri – a green and atmospheric party room surrounded by lush plants and a real farm idyll. Gartneriet is part of Bygdø Kongsgård, and provides you with a completely unique setting for everything from summer parties and company events to weddings and celebrations.


When the temperature drops outside, we move into the Lighthouse House – a warm and cozy space with a calm atmosphere, perfect for pleasant gatherings throughout the fall and winter.


The food is prepared by our own chefs, and we grow the ingredients ourselves.


The menus are set according to the season and what is currently available in the cellar and vegetable bins, in addition to deliveries of meat and cheese products from the farm. All ingredients are of course organic.


Fun fact:

In 2025, Gartneriet spiseri was nominated for the Food Award in the category Kitchen of the Year. The Food Award highlights and honors farmers, chefs and people who care about sustainable meals.

Weddings with many people are often difficult, and often affect both the quality of delivery and time, but you excelled in every way. We were a food-loving bunch on Saturday, we have received a lot of good feedback, and that means a lot to us.

Find a way

  • Bus: 30 Bygdøy from Oslo city center. The garden is located between the stops Kongsgården and Folkemuseet. (Check the routes at ruter.no)
  • Ferry: From Rådhuset to Dronningen. From there 15 min. walk. Departure every 20 minutes. The ferry runs from March 22 to October 6, 2024.
  • Car/bike/foot: From E18 or Bygdøy Allé, turn off for Bygdøy.
  • Parking: Limited parking space right outside the entrance to the Garden Centre and municipal parking outside the main entrance to the Norwegian Folk Museum. Fee every day 08:00 - 20:00.

Practical information

  • Vask og rigg

    We are responsible for all cleaning and rigging before and after the party.

  • Place setting and flowers

    We are responsible for all the setting with the necessary crockery, candles, tablecloths and napkins etc. Please note that flowers are not included in the rental price and come as an optional extra. You can bring your own flowers ready-made in vases, or use flower suppliers.

  • WIFi and technical equipment

    We have a projector and screen that can be used inside the lighthouse, included in the rental price.


    For events in the greenhouse (half the house), we offer a single speaker, mixing desk, 2 microphones, and a stand for the speaker and microphone.

  • Outdoor areas

    Use of our furnished courtyard around the greenhouse is included in all rental prices.

  • Parkering

    We have free parking for about 10 cars in our own parking lot. The spaces are shared with any simultaneous events at the Guest Rooms.
