Last updated 10.02.2026

1. Introduction

Here you will find the terms and conditions for renting the Garden Centre at Bygdø Kongsgård. If you have any questions, please contact us.

2. Damage

As a tenant, you are obliged to take care of the building, plants and interior. If you discover damage to the building, plants or interior that needs to be repaired, you must immediately report it to the person responsible in the kitchen. If you are so unfortunate that damage is caused to the building or interior during your event, you as a tenant are obliged to report and replace the damage.

3. Own equipment

All brought musical equipment and other equipment must be set up on the same day/evening as the event, unless otherwise agreed with the person responsible in the kitchen.

4. Payment

Once the date for the event has been set and the reservation has been confirmed by you, we will send an invoice for 50% of the venue rental fee. The order is not considered booked until the invoice has been paid.

The invoice for food/beverages will be sent after the event.

5. Cancellation

Cancellations must be made in writing by email. We charge a general cancellation fee of NOK 2000. The fee covers administrative work.

5.1 The premises

  • Cancellation of weddings, summer parties and Christmas parties:
  • Less than 12 months before the event date:
  • 50% of the premises rent is retained by the landlord
  • Less than 3 months before the event date:
  • 100% of the amount is retained by the landlord

  • All other events, weekend, including Friday:
  • Less than 6 months before the event date:
  • 50% of the premises rent is retained by the landlord

  • All other events, weekdays (Monday - Thursday):
  • Less than 3 months before the event date:
  • 50% of the premises rent is retained by the landlord

We do not charge a cancellation fee if the event date is moved to another time in the same year, or if a medical certificate can be presented for a serious illness in the immediate family that means that a party cannot take place.

5.2 Food and drink

Due to our use of home-grown ingredients, seasonal menu planning and staffing, the following applies when canceling food service:

  • More than 6 months before the event:
  • Administration fee NOK 2000,-
  • 3–6 months before the event:
  • 25% of the agreed food and beverage amount will be invoiced
  • 1–3 months before the event:
  • 50% of the agreed food and beverage amount will be invoiced
  • Less than 1 month before the event:
  • See section below regarding changes in the number of guests/envelope guarantee less than 1 month before the event.

This applies regardless of cancellation of premises rental.

5.3 Change in number of guests/envelope guarantee

The final number of guests must be announced no later than 30 days before the event. This number is considered a binding minimum for planning and invoicing of catering.

The gardener bases their menu on home-grown and seasonal ingredients, and production and staffing are planned well in advance of the event.

A reduction in the number of guests after this deadline does not result in a reduction in the invoiced food amount according to the rules below:

  • For party and wedding packages (packages with an envelope price over NOK 1000):
  • A fee of NOK 1,000 will be charged per guest who does not show up in relation to the confirmed number.

  • For other packages (lunch and less expensive buffet packages):
  • A fee of NOK 200 will be charged per no-show guest.

This covers costs related to raw materials, preparations and staffing that have already been completed.

An increase in the number of guests after the deadline will be accommodated, but cannot be guaranteed.
