Memorial gathering
Our premises
Marking the end of a human life is an important act, and holding a memorial service for a beloved family member is often felt to be both appropriate and meaningful.
Our premises have different characters. Perhaps a maritime touch would be a good fit, and then we recommend the Røylen banquet hall on the waterfront at the bottom of Bygdøy, at the Norwegian Maritime Museum. If you want a fireplace and beautiful hand-painted traditional rooms, we often hold memorial services at the Guest Rooms at the Norwegian Folk Museum. This is suitable for both small and large groups. We also hold some memorial services at the Bogstad Gård manor. The Peder Anker banquet hall is a good place to get together if you are a large group where many people drive. Bogstad has a large parking lot, easy access and a magnificent banquet hall with space for 130 guests.

Take a look at the menus offered by our partners, TG Selskapsmat and FoodOccasion.

Together with TG Selskapsmat and FoodOccasion, we will guide you safely through an event that often needs to be clarified at short notice and where there may be a need for a little extra support in a tough life situation.
Frequently asked questions about memorial service
When do I have to clarify how many of us there will be?
You don't necessarily know how many people will come to a memorial service, which is often booked at short notice. Give us an estimate and we will adjust as the details fall into place. We should have an exact number from you no later than three days before the memorial service. If you have a little more than expected, we can adjust for that.
Is there parking nearby and is it easy to access by taxi?
We have free parking for about 20 cars at the Guest Rooms and about 50 cars at Bogstad Gård. Paid parking applies at the Maritime Museum. At all our locations, cars and taxis can drive right up to the front door to drop off guests who are unable to walk.
Do you have catering staff for the memorial service?
Our premises are always staffed by serving staff. They are affiliated with our partners TG Selskapsmat and FoodOccasion, who are responsible for all serving, food and drink on the premises.
It is customary to serve sandwiches and cake at memorial services, but our kitchens have an extensive menu where you can also choose other options. There is a liquor license in all premises, so it is possible to order a glass of wine for anyone who wishes.
Can you serve wine for our memorial service?
There is a liquor license in all our premises, so it is possible to order a glass of wine or bubbles if desired.
Can you show pictures on your screen?
Yes, there is a projector, sound and screen in all our premises that you can use free of charge. We also often set up a table with a white tablecloth, where the family can display pictures, flowers and candles if desired.
