Terms & Conditions for venue rental at Bogstad Gård
1.Booking & Reservations
To ensure availability, we recommend booking well in advance, especially for weekends. Weddings are often booked 1–2 years ahead.
For courses and seminars, we recommend booking at least two (2) months in advance. Late bookings may be accommodated subject to availability.
A booking is considered confirmed once the customer has received a written order confirmation from Bogstad Gård.
2. Opening Periods & Public Holidays
Bogstad Gård does not offer venue hire during weeks 28–30.
Events held on public holidays may be subject to an additional fee.
3. Payment Terms
Invoices are issued after the event has been completed.
For weddings, larger events, and customers with international billing information, 50% of the venue hire fee must be paid in advance. The remaining amount will be invoiced after the event.
4. Included in the Venue Hire Fee
The venue hire includes:
- Venue setup (rigging)
- White damask tablecloths
- White damask napkins
- Tealights or candle lighting
- Access to technical equipment (sound system and projector)
- WiFi
- Post-event cleaning carried out by the museum
5. Decorations & Use of the Premises
The following is not permitted:
- Attaching decorations to walls or ceilings
- Moving museum objects or furnishings
- Use of confetti cannons (indoors or outdoors)
All decorations brought by the customer must be removed at the end of the event, unless otherwise agreed.
Decorations may be delivered in advance for storage at the museum, subject to prior agreement.
The customer is responsible for any damage caused to the premises, building, or interior. Compensation will be assessed based on the extent of the damage.
6. Catering & Additional Services
All food, beverages, and catering services must be ordered through Bogstad Gård’s designated supplier.
Floral arrangements are not included in the venue hire fee, but may be arranged through our partner or an external supplier chosen by the customer.
7. Alcohol Service & Bar Solutions
Bringing any food, beverages, or alcohol is strictly prohibited.
All alcohol must be ordered through Bogstad Gård’s approved partner.
Bar solutions may be arranged as:
- Host-paid (invoiced to the customer)
- Guest-paid
- Combined solutions (e.g. drink vouchers followed by card payment)
8. Accessibility & Dietary Requirements
The venue is wheelchair accessible.
Menus may be adapted for allergies or dietary requirements by prior agreement.
9. Transport & Parking
Bogstad Gård is located at the entrance to Sørkedalen and is easily accessible by bus and car.
A large free parking area is available for guests.
10. Weddings – Minimum Guest Requirement
During peak season, weddings require a minimum of eighty (80) guests.

11. Liability for Damages
The customer is fully liable for any damage caused to the premises, buildings, interiors, or equipment during the rental period.
Moving museum objects is strictly prohibited.
Use of confetti cannons is not permitted indoors or outdoors. Any violation will result in additional cleaning charges of a minimum of NOK 5,000.
12. Security Requirements
Staff from the designated catering supplier must be present throughout the entire event.
Bogstad Gård is connected to professional security services, which may be contacted when deemed necessary by the catering supplier.
13. Timeframes & Access to the Venue
Seminars and daytime events normally take place between 09:00 and 16:00.
For evening events and private functions, access to the venue is granted from the museum’s opening hours on the day of rental.
Last serving of alcohol must take place no later than 03:00.
All guests must have left the premises no later than 03:30.
Cancellation Policy
Events may be rescheduled free of charge within the same calendar year.
No cancellation fee will apply upon presentation of a medical certificate confirming serious illness in the immediate family. Please note that the administrative fee applies to all confirmed bookings.
All cancellations are subject to a standard cancellation fee of NOK 2,000. This fee covers administrative handling.
In addition, the following cancellation terms apply:
Weddings, confirmations, larger private parties and events
- Less than 12 months prior to the event: 50% of the venue hire fee will be invoiced upon cancellation
- Less than 6 months prior to the event: 100% of the venue hire fee will be invoiced upon cancellation
Weekend bookings (including Fridays)
- Less than 12 months prior to the event: Administrative fee of NOK 2,000 will be invoiced
- Less than 6 months prior to the event: 50% of the venue hire fee will be invoiced upon cancellation
- Less than 3 months prior to the event: 100% of the venue hire fee will be invoiced upon cancellation
Seminars, meetings and conferences (weekdays)
- Less than 3 months prior to the event: Administrative fee of NOK 2,000 will be invoiced
- Less than 2 months prior to the event: 100% of the venue hire fee will be invoiced upon cancellation
Other event types (weekday/evening)
- Less than 12 months prior to the event: Administrative fee of NOK 2,000 will be invoiced
- Less than 3 months prior to the event: 50% of the venue hire fee will be invoiced upon cancellation
- Less than 2 months prior to the event: 100% of the venue hire fee will be invoiced upon cancellation
